Buying a Sarasota Home Privately: Why Planning Ahead Matters

Real Estate, Gulf Coast of Florida Michelle Shiver September 25, 2026

Some buyers are ready to purchase a home but would prefer to keep their plans—and their identity—private. That might be for personal, professional or security reasons. Whatever the reason, discretion should begin well before an offer is written.

As a Broker Associate and a multimillion-dollar producer year after year, I understand how to handle sensitive conversations with care. I’m comfortable using nondisclosure agreements when appropriate to set expectations about what information can be shared and with whom.

I also know that privacy concerns do not necessarily end at closing. If a buyer wants to explore purchasing through an LLC or another ownership arrangement, I can connect them with attorneys familiar with this process. They can advise on the options and prepare the appropriate documents before the transaction moves forward. My role is to coordinate the real estate side so the buyer’s privacy goals are considered from the start.

No agreement or ownership structure can promise complete anonymity. Certain documents and filings may become public, and the right approach depends on the buyer’s circumstances. That is why early planning—and the right professional advice—matters.

If you’re considering a purchase in Sarasota, Siesta Key, Longboat Key or the surrounding area and privacy is a priority, I welcome a confidential conversation.
